What better way to end the financial year than with a tax-deductible donation to a worthy cause. We have a number of causes that are particularly close to our heart, and we encourage you to consider making a real difference this tax time by donating to one of the following…
ABIA is a non-profit organisation that offers training, information and support for those who live with, work with or love a child with autism. They assist those who have received an autism diagnosis, those who have yet to receive a diagnosis, and those who wish to make an informed decision about ABA as a possible intervention method for a child with autism.
ABIA is both a training and membership organisation, keeping the community informed on all things ABA for autism through a biennial ABA conference (ABA Today) and the ABA for Autism Round Table. As a member organisation they support and represent hundreds of Victorian families, 26 ABA Service Providers and a large Facebook/Parent Support Network community.
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a rare disease whereby the skin blisters and peels at the slightest touch. Living with EB is like living with third degree burns, with sufferers bandaged every day with dressings to protect and medicate their wounds. This debilitating skin disorder is a life sentence for children and families who live with the pain every single day.
Because most people have never heard of EB, a lack of research is delaying an end to this devastating condition. The EB Research Foundation has been established to raise funds to resource and enable the best scientific minds in the world of genetic research to focus on a cure, and for this they need your support.
ReadyStepGrow is a ‘world first’ organisation empowering parents with the skills and guidance needed to enrich, nurture and provide stable environments in the earliest years of their preterm children’s lives.
Every year 25,000 children in Australia are born preterm, and many go on to experience life-long challenges. The good news is, many of these challenges can be overcome if action is taken early. Developed by a mulitdisciplinary team including expert physiotherapist, speech pathologist and occupational therapist, ReadyStepGrow aims to extend parent’s knowledge about the different areas of learning and development, particularly those which have been shown to challenge prems.
As the only service of its kind in the world, ReadyStepGrow needs your help to continue their good work. For more information about ReadyStepGrow click here, and if you’d like to donate to this worthy cause, please follow this link.
Asha and Maya took part in their first ReadyStepGrow program at two years old and completed three terms in the lead up to starting Kindergarten. In their Mum Anita’s words, ReadyStepGrow “helped reduce my girl’s separation anxiety and their need to be physically with me all the time, It increased their confidence to learn and play independently and with other children. It taught them to cope in group situations and gave them the confidence to have a voice of their own.”
